the Path of Liberation – Levels 1 & 2
Retreat with Mingyur Rinpoche
The Path of Liberation is at the heart of the Vajrayana path in the Tergar community.
During this in-person retreat, Mingyur Rinpoche will transmit Levels 1 & 2 of the Path of Liberation and give direct instructions on recognizing the nature of mind and integrating it into practice.
This retreat also includes :
- Teachings on the traditional practices of the Path of Liberation ;
- A refuge ceremony ;
- The White Tara empowerment.

Teachings are given in English with simultaneous translation into French, German, and Spanish

Is this retreat for you ?
This retreat is intended for practitioners who already have a solid foundation and meet at least one of the following conditions :
- Joy of Living Program
You have completed the three levels of the Joy of Living program and fulfilled the required practices.
- Complete Preliminary Practices
You have completed the 4 × 100 000 preliminary practices (Kagyü Ngöndro or from another lineage).
- Equivalent practice experience
You have been practicing daily for at least 5 years and have accumulated at least 30 days of retreat, with more than 6 hours of formal meditation per day, under the guidance of a qualified Buddhist teacher.
What you will experience during the retreat
Over these five days, the retreat alternates between teachings, practice, and integration time :
- Teaching on Level 1 : All Phenomena Arise in the Mind and Level 2 : Mind and Emptiness ;
- Direct instructions on the nature of mind ;
- Teachings on Nectar of the Path and the preliminary practices ;
- Q&A ;
- Guided meditation and silent practice ;
- Refuge ceremony ;
- White Tara empowerment ;
- Supplementary teachings with Tergar lamas and guides.
IMPORTANT – Separate registration for White Tara
The White Tara empowerment is part of the program, but requires separate registration.
This registration is mandatory to participate in the empowerment and is free of charge.

Accommodations & Access
Several accommodation options are available :
- On-site Accommodations – Les Jardins de l’Anjou (3★) :
Staying on-site is highly recommended to fully experience the program’s continuity and atmosphere.
Meals are included for guests staying on-site. If you are staying off-site, you can book your lunches and dinners separately at Les Jardins de l’Anjou.
- Small budget accommodation :
A youth hostel-style option is offered by Tergar France. Please note that bed linens, duvets, and towels are not provided.
- Nearby campground :
You can also book at La Guyonnière campground, located about a 10-minute walk from the retreat venue.

How will translation be provided ? The event will be held in English with simultaneous translation into French, Spanish, and German.
How do I get there ? The nearest train station is Angers (about 30 minutes by car or local transit). Direct TGV trains connect Paris to Angers in about 1 hour and 30 minutes. From other major cities such as Lyon, Nantes, Rennes, or Lille, a connection via Paris or Angers makes it easy to reach the venue. The nearest airports are Nantes Atlantique Airport (about a 1-hour drive) and the Paris airports (about 2 hours to 2 hours and an half depending on the route to the venue). A shuttle from the Angers train station to the Jardin de l’Anjou is available and can be booked directly when you purchase your tickets. Carpooling is also an option: click here : click here.
Is accommodation included in the program price ? No, accommodation is not included in the ticket price: each participant is responsible for booking their own lodging. Since spots are limited, we strongly recommend booking your accommodation as soon as possible.
Where can I book my accommodation ? We offer recommended accommodations that can be booked directly through our website (see above). You can also use your usual platforms such as Booking.com or Airbnb to find accommodations near Angers.
Are meals included in the program price ? If you book your accommodation at Les Jardins de l’Anjou, meals are included in your accommodation reservation : Click here to book your accommodationmeals at Les Jardins de l’Anjou. If you are staying elsewhere, you can book your lunches and dinners on-site : Click here to book your meals (WITHOUT accommodation). Coffee breaks will be provided during the retreat.
Can I buy my ticket on-site ? No, it is not possible to buy your ticket on-site. Registration is available online only, subject to availability. We therefore recommend booking in advance, as the event may sell out.
What is the cancellation policy ? More than 60 days before the event begins : full refund of the ticket price (excluding a €30 processing fee). Between 30 and 60 days before the event : €150 refund.
